...Capturing the attention of Country and Americana audiences, it’s impossible to ignore the enviable pop sensibility in his choruses and song construction.
— The YCR Dispatch

Raised in South Carolina, now back in his native Florida —by way of California —Joel Luke is a singer songwriter that could easily be described as Americana, but “easy” wouldn’t do him justice. Easy wouldn’t be representative of this artist’s journey back to the studio.

The former Noise Ratchet front-man has retained the polish of his indie-rock roots but taken on the character that can only come from time and experience. His work has the naturally occurring patina that is so coveted among musicians because it can’t be bought or faked. Joel Luke’s background and resume are especially desirable, as they include cutting an album with Rick Rubin, recording at Sound City Studios in Los Angeles, and years of ever-growing tour-runs (Dashboard Confessional, Switchfoot) while the band was signed to major label American Recordings.

Joel Luke’s tunes are capturing the attention of Country and Americana audiences, but it’s impossible to ignore the enviable and enduring pop sensibility of his writing. Joel lands chorus hooks that make other songwriters exceedingly jealous, especially if they thought he was just starting out. Add-in Joel’s vocal range and the jealousy can heat-up, hearing him effortlessly reach notes not achievable for the general population. Those miffed-musicians cool-off when they learn that it isn’t Joel’s first rodeo; He’s earned it.

When the band hit pause, Joel got off the road to start a family. While band members pursued different projects (including starting Delta Spirit) Joel continued his musical life from a different angle, becoming a luthier (Taylor Guitars 1996-2006) and opening Seven C music.

Crafting instruments took the driver-seat for a while, but crafting instrumentation was always riding shotgun. The catalogue of work he’s built in the mean time has earned the attention of some of the musical “it-men” based in his home-market of Tampa/St. Petersburg, including guitarist and producer Billy Norris (Gavin Degraw band leader, lead guitarist), who is leading production for Joel’s upcoming releases slated to begin dropping in mid-2023.
